The Unimot Group launched its 100th AVIA petrol station in June. This year, the Group incorporated 15 new facilities to the network, including the second station in Słubice located within the border zone. The Swiss fuel chain brand AVIA has been present within the Polish market for five years. The first AVIA petrol station was launched by Unimot Group in Lomża in June 2017.
In addition to the second petrol station located in Słubice, stations in Mielec, Bełchatów, Skarżysko-Kamienna, Stargard, Kobyłka, Odolion, Makowiec, Bobrowniki, Łopuszno, Grabki Duże, Chociw, Brzeźnik, Torzym and Łazy have been incorporated into the AVIA petrol station network. As many as 11 of them were equipped with the Eat&Go catering services.
The AVIA’s 100 petrol stations located in Poland is a perfect celebration of the AVIA network’s five-year presence on the Polish market. The second 100th petrol station will be opened symbolically with our 101st station in Częstochowa as the second AVIA’s petrol station. Here, it is worth mentioning that this is the place where our Company has originated. As a member of AVIA International, we are very pleased that we could introduce this Swiss petrol station brand, which has a 90-year history, into the Polish market. Our initial ambitious plans of having 100 petrol stations in 2020 were disrupted by the pandemic outbreak. However, we achieved this goal this year and this is not the end. We realistically assume that the number of petrol stations at the end of 2023 might be around 150″, says Adam Sikorski, President of the Management Board of Unimot.
We are not slowing down and have been working hard in recent months to reach the number of 100 AVIA’s petrol stations throughout Poland in the first half of the year. At the same time, we are developing our Eat&Go catering services and checking the SPAR supermarket format at our petrol stations – it can be said that we are satisfied with the initial results of this concept,” says Robert Nowek, Managing Director of the AVIA network in Poland and Ukraine. – Among the new stations, we are particularly pleased with the second location in Słubicie, within the border zone. This is especially important as this is the first AVIA petrol station in this town, launched in 2021, and what is more, achieving excellent results. I am convinced that the second petrol station, which is located at the junction crossing the A2 motorway and national road no 29 and, as a typical transit station, is adapted for trucks, will be one of our flagship points within the territory of Poland.
The AVIA’s station network, developed by the UNIMOT Group, has as many as 100 locations throughout Poland. The stations operate mainly in medium-sized and small towns. At present, AVIA is also expanding its business by operating petrol stations within metropolitan areas and tourist destinations, such as Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan and Zakopane.
