Photovoltaic installations have been built at 5 AVIA petrol stations managed by the Unimot Group. The total capacity of the new installations at AVIA stations, the assembly of which is the responsibility of the Unimot Group-owned AVIA Solar brand, exceeds 100 kWp.
At the beginning of September, new photovoltaic installations were fitted to AVIA petrol stations in Zakopane, Gorzków, Puławy, Chełmek and Jastrzębie Zdrój. The AVIA station in Gorzów Wielkopolski is also powered by energy from the sun. All installations have been located on the roofs of the facilities, and the amount of energy they produce will allow savings of up to 50 per cent per year.
We are doing everything to make our AVIA stations not only customer-friendly, but also environmentally-friendly. It is very important to us to have as little impact on the environment as possible, which is in line with the ESG Strategy of the Unimot Group within which we operate, and also increases the cost efficiency of our facilities. We are constantly analysing the technical feasibility of fitting installations at further fuel stations, because we want as many stations as possible to be equipped with their own source of green energy,” says Mr Robert Nowek, Managing Director of the AVIA chain in Poland and Ukraine, Unimot Group.
Photovoltaic installations are the perfect solution for facilities such as petrol stations. As AVIA Solar, we have already specialised in our offer for companies and public facilities and we can see that our customers are more and more willing reaching for solutions that fit in with the trend of reducing emissions and at the same time allowing them to become independent from rising energy prices,’ says Mr Karol Ilba, President of the Management Board of Unimot Energia i Gaz, a company that develops the AVIA Solar brand.
The chain of AVIA stations, developed by the Unimot Group, includes 102 facilities across Poland. Unimot is also developing its cooperation with the SPAR chain, launching more SPAR Express stores at AVIA stations. The stations operate mainly in medium-sized and small towns. AVIA is also expanding its operations to the largest agglomerations and tourist destinations – stations operate in, among others, Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan and Zakopane.
