Olavion, a part of the Unimot Group, and Rail Capital Partners (RCP) have extended their current collaboration by concluding new individual contracts for the lease of four additional GAMA locomotives.
We are acquiring more modern locomotives. This is coherent with our Company’s strategy. The Unimot Group expects Olavion to continue expanding the number of transportation services for non-Group customers. The new locomotives provided by RCP will increase Olavion’s capacity to handle new contracts and make Olavion stronger on the market – says Henryk Gruca, President of the Management Board of Olavion.
The purchase of the locomotives from RCP is the outcome of months-long negotiations and good cooperation between these two entities. The conclusion of the individual contracts means that RCP will provide twice as many locomotives to Olavion. Three of the four locomotives are scheduled to arrive this year at Olavion.
The increased number of locomotives leased by Olavion results from our current collaborations, the high level of services rendered, and the quality of the rolling stock offered to our customers. At present, RCP has 51 state-of-the-art locomotives, and their number is gradually increasing to meet market demand. As a ROSCO company, we provide a comprehensive service and purchase rolling stock for our contractors so that the customer may focus on its business. We are extremely pleased to observe Olavion’s dynamic growth and how well it is operating in the demanding rail freight market as we are aware of the fact that our company’s growth is closely related to the development of our customers’ businesses – says Ireneusz Kozłowski, President of the Management Board of Rail Capital Partners.
Gama is an electric locomotive capable of pulling up to 3,200 tonnes of freight trains at a seven-per-mile gradient.
