UNIMOT Group charters LPG carrier, strengthening supply chain ahead of upcoming sanctions

12.11.2024

UNIMOT Group has signed a contract for the charter of a gas carrier intended for the transport of LPG. The contract was concluded on a time charter basis and covers the full management of the gas carrier for a period of 12 months. The gas carrier will operate in the North Sea, regularly delivering LPG to the Wilhelmshaven terminal, rented in May 2024 by UNIMOT Paliwa - a company from the UNIMOT Group.

The gas carrier charter agreement is one of the strategic elements of building an effective logistics channel enabling the import of LPG from alternative directions. In this way, the UNIMOT Group is preparing for the upcoming sanctions on Russian LPG, which will come into force in December 2024.

"The chartering of the LPG carrier is a significant step in expanding our supply chain, enabling us to respond flexibly to upcoming market changes, including sanctions on LPG imports from Russia. This gives the UNIMOT Group greater operational freedom, which translates into the continuity and security of key energy resource supplies to Poland," said Robert Brzozowski, Vice President of the Management Board for Commercial Affairs at UNIMOT S.A.

This charter not only increases the flexibility of the supply chain but also minimizes the risks associated with the limited availability of transport fleets. Full management of the carrier’s operations by the UNIMOT Group enables the optimization of transportation costs, high operational efficiency, and the ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions.

The UNIMOT Group is constantly focusing on the development of its logistics infrastructure, and the charter of the gas carrier is another step in the implementation of the UNIMOT Group's long-term strategy for 2024-2028, which assumes, among others, securing supplies of key energy resources and building stable logistics channels for the future.
